Macchiato (noun):
- A coffee drink made by adding a small amount of foamed milk to a shot of espresso, ‘staining’ the coffee with milk. This is also often referred to as an “Espresso Macchiato”.
- In some places, particularly in the United States, a “Latte Macchiato” is also popular, which is made by ‘staining’ a glass of steamed milk with a shot of espresso.
