Café Bustelo, despite its Cuban-style flavor profile, is an American coffee company.
It was originally founded by a Spanish immigrant named Gregorio Menendez Bustelo, who lived in Cuba as a young man and then later moved to the United States in 1917.
He started the company, which was originally known as “Bustelo Coffee Roasters”, in East Harlem, New York in 1928.
The brand is currently owned by the J.M. Smucker Company.
